Art Zone has been the brainchild of Svetlana Belotserkovskaya, a local professional artist and art teacher, since June 2002. Svetlana has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Graphic Design, Studio Arts, and Art Education.
Svetlana has taught at a number of places, including the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Hoover, and Cahaba Heights Recreation Centers, Forstall Art Center, Alabama Art Supply, Riverchase United Methodist Church, and her art studio, located at 736A Shades Mountain Plaza, Hoover, AL. Many of Svetlana’s students are award-winning artists themselves, and she always encourages students to participate in different art competitions and set challenges and goals for themselves. Also, Svetlana has helped prepare portfolio for a number of students applying to prestigious art programs.
